A private 3-hour strategy intensive for established small business founders who need an experienced outside perspective to identify what is restricting growth, determine what matters most, and create a focused strategic path forward.
When you are inside the business every day, it is hard to see the whole picture.
The loudest problem starts to feel like the most important one.
Everything feels connected. Everything feels urgent.
Maybe growth has slowed and you can't quite figure out why.
Maybe something is not connecting with customers the way it should.
Maybe you have several opportunities in front of you and are unsure where to focus.
Or maybe you keep working on the problem everyone can see without knowing whether it is actually the problem that needs to be solved.
You do not need ten more things to do.
You need to know which things actually matter.
A marketing problem is not always a marketing problem.
A sales problem is not always a sales problem.
Sometimes what looks like a demand issue is really a positioning issue.
What looks like a capacity problem may point to systems, delegation, or the founder remaining at the center of too many decisions.
And sometimes the strategy that got the business this far simply is not the strategy that will take it where you want to go next.
Working harder at the wrong thing will not solve an upstream constraint.
But when you are busy serving customers, leading people, making decisions, and keeping the business moving, it can be difficult to step far enough outside of it to see what is actually happening.
"It’s hard to read the label from inside the bottle."
What if, instead of reacting to the loudest issue, you could understand what is creating it?
What if you could see how different parts of the business are affecting one another?
What if you could stop trying to fix everything and know where your attention would create the greatest impact?
Growth does not always require more effort.
Sometimes it requires a different path.
The Business Growth Strategy Lab is a private, one-on-one strategic intensive designed to help you step out of the day-to-day and look at your business from a higher level.
For three focused hours, we examine what is happening across the business, identify the constraint or opportunity that deserves the most attention, explore possible paths forward, and determine the strategic priorities that matter now.
I am not there simply to give you space to think.
I am there to ask the questions, challenge assumptions, connect dots, and help you see what can be difficult to see when you are the one carrying the business every day.
For more than 20 years, I have worked across strategy, marketing, customer experience, organizational alignment, and process improvement.
I have led multi-million-dollar transformation projects, built marketing systems that tripled a specialized customer database, facilitated cross-functional Lean Six Sigma initiatives, and guided leaders and teams through complex strategic and organizational challenges.
That experience has taught me where to look, what to question, and how seemingly separate issues inside a business can affect one another.
My role is to help you get beneath the symptom and determine what actually deserves your attention.
The real shift is from:
“I know something needs my attention, but I’m not sure what to do first.”
to:
“I understand what is happening, I know what matters most, and I have a direction I trust.”
You leave better able to:
See what is actually restricting growth.
Separate the underlying issue from the visible symptom.
Recognize options and opportunities you may not have seen before.
Decide what deserves attention now and what can wait.
Make strategic choices without treating every issue as equally urgent.
Lead the business more deliberately instead of continually reacting to it.
Because strategy is not about fixing everything.
It is about knowing what matters most next.
During the Lab, I guide you through the Growth Compass: your strategic path from constraint to momentum.
We step back and examine the business as a whole instead of assuming the visible problem is the real one.
Using a whole-business lens, we look across six interconnected areas:
Revenue & Profit
Demand & Sales
Offer & Positioning
Customer Experience & Retention
Operations & Capacity
Founder & Leadership
The goal is not to fix all six.
It is to identify where one issue may be creating problems somewhere else and uncover the highest-leverage place to intervene.
The question becomes: What is actually restricting growth?
Once we understand the constraint, we explore the smartest route forward.
That may involve changing a system, adjusting positioning, creating capacity, improving the customer experience, delegating, automating, restructuring something, or finding another path entirely.
We do not automatically default to the most obvious solution.
We look for the solution that makes sense for your business.
The question becomes: What could work differently?
Then we determine what matters most now.
Instead of leaving with another overwhelming list, you identify the highest-leverage priorities and the strategic moves that deserve your time, energy, and resources over the next 90 days.
The question becomes: What do we do first?
Before the Lab, you will complete a structured review designed to surface areas of friction, opportunity, misalignment, and potential constraint across the business.
This gives us a stronger starting point for our time together.
Three focused hours dedicated entirely to your business.
This is private, one-on-one strategic work—not a group workshop or generic planning session.
I will ask questions, challenge assumptions, pressure-test ideas, and point out patterns, disconnects, and possibilities that may be difficult to see from inside the business.
We will examine the business holistically so we can understand how issues in one area may be affecting another.
You leave knowing the priorities that deserve your attention now and the strategic direction for the next 90 days.
You can.
And sometimes that is exactly what you need.
But there is a limit to what you can see when the same person generating the ideas is also evaluating them.
An outside strategist can challenge the assumptions you no longer notice, ask the question you have not thought to ask, and connect information that may feel unrelated when you are in the middle of running the business.
The value of the Lab is not simply having three hours away from your inbox.
It is having an experienced strategic thinking partner in the room with you.
You may be right.
We are not going into the Lab assuming you have misdiagnosed your business.
We are going in willing to test the assumption.
If the problem is exactly where you think it is, we can spend our time determining the strongest path forward.
If it is not, you have the opportunity to discover that before investing more time, money, or energy solving the wrong thing.
The goal of the Strategy Lab is not to solve every issue inside your business.
The goal is to understand what deserves attention, determine the strategic direction, and identify what happens next.
Some founders will leave ready to execute independently.
If the Lab reveals a deeper strategic issue that would benefit from additional support, we can discuss what that might look like separately.
There is no pressure to continue working together.
You have an established, functioning business.
Growth has slowed, something feels disconnected, or you are wrestling with a problem you cannot fully diagnose.
You are capable of implementing once you know where to focus.
You want an experienced outside perspective rather than another beginner business course.
You are willing to question your assumptions and look at the business differently.
You want to make stronger strategic decisions rather than simply add more to your list.
This is probably not the right fit if you are looking for someone to execute the strategy for you, need intensive operational rescue, or want someone to simply hand you instructions without engaging in the strategic thinking process.
Most businesses do not go off course because of one dramatic mistake.
Small decisions accumulate.
Systems that once worked stop keeping pace.
The founder absorbs one more responsibility.
A temporary workaround quietly becomes the permanent way of operating.
And time, money, and energy continue going toward problems that may only be symptoms.
You do not need to manufacture urgency around strategic work.
But if you already know something in the business needs attention, continuing to work around it does not usually make it clearer.
Creating space to examine the business now can help you make your next decisions more deliberately.
Private Strategy Labs can be booked up to 60 days in advance.
“Tamara gave me actionable tips and strategies to improve my client acquisition strategy.”
Clients have also consistently described the value of strong questions, clearer thinking, and finally being able to articulate an issue they had been struggling to understand.
You do not need to solve every problem.
You do not need another giant list of tactics.
You need to understand what is really happening, decide what matters most, and choose the path that makes sense from here.
